Tourism & Wine Tourism

MUCH MORE THAN A PLACE TO STAY

The Correia de Sequeira family pioneered rural tourism in the Douro, opening the doors of their Quintas to visitors in 1993. And over the years many visitors from all over the world have returned to live this unique experience with their family.

At Quinta das Sequeirinhas, located in the heart of the Douro Demarcated Region, on the Port Wine Route (National Road 222), you can follow all stages of Port Wine production in stonework mills. And discover nature's secrets, enjoying the tranquility and mild climate, with hot summers and mild winters, among vineyards, olive groves and almond trees where foxes and wild boars hide...

Just 14 km from Régua and 1h 36 min from Porto Airport, this is an excellent starting point to discover the region: from the museums of Lamego to Vila Real, Porto and Viseu. Whether for the excellent access via the IP3 and IP4 or taking advantage of transport by bus and train, departing from Régua.

You can also follow the trails on foot or by bicycle, be amazed by the magnificent panoramas from the viewpoints of São Salvador do Mundo (20 km) and São Leonardo da Galafura (7 km), visit Parque do Alvão and Serra do Marão. And, of course, taste the genuine gastronomy of Trás-os-Montes.

Relaxing

At Quinta das Sequeirinhas you will feel at home, welcomed in the family. Relax in the calm of nature, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and almond trees, and enjoy the impressive panoramic view over the Douro River. This cozy traditional "Quinta", one of the oldest in the Douro Wine Region, was restored over time to ensure the greatest comfort. The main house is decorated with antique furniture in a lovely rustic style.

Savouring

At wine tastings guided by the winemaker you will discover every secret of the famous Porto and Douro Wines.

And a special meal service invites you to taste the traditional Portuguese cuisine prepared with the farm freshest products.

Enjoy the purest olive oil from the estate, the tasty local sausages and cheeses, and the delicious typical Douro desserts. All artfully cooked at the ancient farm kitchen following old family recipes perfected over generations.

Engaging

Here you can live the genuine Douro's culture, engaging in the farming rhythms. Visitors can follow every step of the wine making process, starting with the harvest - handpicking the grapes and foot threading at "lagarada" - and learn in mini-courses on wine production, in a relaxed way, guided by the winemaker.

This is also the starting point for exploring the region by its nature trails, walking, biking and horse riding. Or engage in activities such as hunting, fishing, sailing, canoeing and windsurfing, just 1 km from Quinta de Marrocos.

You can also participate in the lively local festivals such as the Wine Harvest Festival (September / October), The Feast of Nossa Senhora do Socorro (14-16 August, at Régua) or Nossa Senhora dos Remédios (1st half of September, in Lamego).

"We did not stay here, we took their wine tasting with lunch. First the place is beautiful. 2nd, it is so authentic and non-commercial. 3rd, the lunch was fantastic; it was the first time we had liked cod. 4th, the wine was so nice. 5th, the explanation was fantastic. 6th the room we ended up seeing was very nice!"

"We were welcomed like old friends and were provided access to the family lounge as well as our comfortable room. It is the graciousness of the family and the hospitality extended by them that made this a truly warm and memorable experience. Breakfast was well above average and the tour and information about port making were bonuses..."
