Made of water, sugar, lemon, aromatic plants and Port wine, the famed Rebuçados da Régua date back to 300 years ago, in the Douro wine region to relieve the flu and colds. The dough, after being molded and cut into small pieces, was wrapped in paper bags to be carried in the pockets and thus consumed during the days of harsh work.
