MUCH MORE THAN A PLACE TO STAY
The Correia de Sequeira's were pioneers of the rural tourism in the Douro, having opened the family estates to visitors in 1993. To provide a genuine experience of the traditional Douro lifestyle in a relaxing atmosphere is their promise. Much more than a place to stay, this is the opportunity to engage and learn from the genuine traditions of the Douro, sharing the family routines. And over the years many visitors from all over the world have returned to enjoy this unique experience.
Housed at Quinta de Marrocos, just 2 km from Régua and 100 km from Porto Airport, in the Douro Wine Region, in the full Port wine Route in the Coa Valley, you can follow all stages of Port winemaking. Discover nature's secrets and enjoy the calm and a pleasant climate, with warm summers and mild winters. Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and almond trees, where foxes and wild boars hide... And of course, taste the genuine transmontano cuisine.
This is also an excellent starting point to discover the region: from the Lamego museums to Vila Real, Porto and Viseu. With excellent access by IP3, IP4 routes or by bus and train, departing from Régua. You can also enjoy the tracks by foot or by bicycle, enjoy the magnificent panoramas from Sao Salvador do Mundo (20 km) and Sao Leonardo da Galafura (7 km), visit the Alvão Park and the Marão mountains.
At wine tastings guided by the winemaker you will discover every secret of the famous Porto and Douro Wines.
And a special meal service invites you to taste the traditional Portuguese cuisine prepared with the farm freshest products.
Enjoy the purest olive oil from the estate, the tasty local sausages and cheeses, and the delicious typical Douro desserts. All artfully cooked at the ancient farm kitchen following old family recipes perfected over generations.
Here you can live the genuine Douro's culture, engaging in the farming rhythms. Visitors can follow every step of the wine making process, starting with the harvest - handpicking the grapes and foot threading at "lagarada" - and learn in mini-courses on wine production, in a relaxed way, guided by the winemaker.
This is also the starting point for exploring the region by its nature trails, walking, biking and horse riding. Or engage in activities such as hunting, fishing, sailing, canoeing and windsurfing, just 1 km from Quinta de Marrocos.
You can also participate in the lively local festivals such as the Wine Harvest Festival (September / October), The Feast of Nossa Senhora do Socorro (14-16 August, at Régua) or Nossa Senhora dos Remédios (1st half of September, in Lamego).

"We did not stay here, we took their wine tasting with lunch. First the place is beautiful. 2nd, it is so authentic and non-commercial. 3rd, the lunch was fantastic; it was the first time we had liked cod. 4th, the wine was so nice. 5th, the explanation was fantastic. 6th the room we ended up seeing was very nice!"
"We were welcomed like old friends and were provided access to the family lounge as well as our comfortable room. It is the graciousness of the family and the hospitality extended by them that made this a truly warm and memorable experience. Breakfast was well above average and the tour and information about port making were bonuses..."
"Cesar and his daughters make the stay at Marrocos a delight: warm welcome, comfortable rooms, very nice breakfast."
